The most exhaustive book on Joy Division is also a very uncommon and scarce one. No copyright details provided, this is an unofficial bootleg book, although it has become iconic. No date, author or publisher noted. A History in Cuttings covers Joy Division and New Order trajectory for the years 1977-1983, including lyrics, gig charts, tape guides, discographies, bootleg discographies, and a staggering number of reviews, interviews, features, retrospectives and newspaper clippings.

Many editions of this stapled collection of photocopied music paper and magazine cuttings from different countries appeared in the early 1980s, possibly originated in the Netherlands. The cover for this edition features a photograph of the band by Harry Goodwin, taken in April 1980.

Condition: Good. Detached top cover, a bit torn and creased around the edges. The main part of the book is still well held by the stapled binding and, apart from a few creases to some corners, is in good shape. Previous owners name and 1985 date written on title page.
