Two catalogs – bound together forming one book – of two exhibitions held at Leica Gallery in Warsaw in 2014; Nobuyoshi Araki's Arakimania and Pawel Jaszczuk's Kinky City. Even though at first glance they might seem unrelated, both photographer's bodies of work explore the ideas of sex, desire and fetish in Japanese culture. The Western belief that the body is a source of sin has never caught on in Japan. The concept of clean/unclean does not exist. Sex, eroticism, pornography — all this is a part of life, art, a natural human need, which in Japan is not subject to moral evaluation.

Araki's part covers a selection of 68 photographs shot between 1968 and 2012, from his most acclaimed series Kinbaku, Flowers, Erotos, Kaori and others. Jaszczuk's part consists of 46 images from a single project executed between 2006 and 2014. Kinky City is the photographer's three-year journey into the underground sex clubs of Tokyo’s red light district.
