Borthwick's first book is more of an artist book than a monograph, crossing the genres of art, fashion, literature and photography. It is a collection of monochrome photographs, drawings and text collages, functioning as a kind of scrapbook for a post-fashion era, summing up everything Borthwick's work is about.
Mark Borthwick's minimal, crisp aesthetic broke through the conventions of fashion photography and he went on to become one of the 90’s most influential and defining photographers, shooting for then fledgling magazines such as Purple, Self Service and AnOther as well as collaborating on campaigns including Comme Des Garçons, Martin Margiela and Yohji Yamamoto.
